Founded in 1991 by Jane Shuping Tyndall, the Tyndall Galleries first opened in Brightleaf Square, a beautifully restored historic tobacco warehouse in downtown Durham, North Carolina. In 2002 the gallery moved into a new contemporary, award-winning space at University Mall in Chapel Hill not far from the campus of the University of North Carolina.
The Tyndall Galleries represent the finest artists in North Carolina and the Southeast, most nationally and internationally renowned. Paintings, sculptures, ceramics and tapestries by these artists are shown in a museum manner allowing each work to be viewed in a quiet space with peaceful ambiance.
The staff at the Tyndall Galleries is committed to creating an enjoyable and uplifting art experience for every visitor. We are here to foster an appreciation for the works of art created by our extraordinary artists and to provide the expertise to advise both new and seasoned collectors.
